Please I really need help, what is the difference between a medical lab technician and a medical lab technologist? which one is better if there is indeed a difference between the two??
please I need help asap, please. thanks any help would truly be appreciated!! thanks
A technician has a 2 yr degree and the technologist has a 4 yr. degree. In most places, their work is the same though.
In my area, starting salary for technicians is about 3 or 4 dollars less than a technologist would make.
I would say its better to get the 4 year degree, because most facilities would rather hire a 4 yr. technologist over a technician. The 4 year degree would also benefit you if you want to branch out and get into other areas like research or forensics.
The degree for a medical lab technician (MLT) is 2 years. A medical technologist (MT) is a 4 year degree. Other than than not much different.
