How to Join the Air Force

The air force provides a lucrative career and gives a chance to work with high end, sophisticated technology. The Air Force Academy trains people for jobs in the United States Air Force. No tuition is charged by the Air Force Academy. The standard of education offered at the academy too is high. Those interested in joining the academy should, however, remember that it is obligatory to serve the air force at least for 5 years after training. Educational Qualification and Aptitude Test
To join the air force, applicants should have at least a High School Diploma. Those who have appeared for General Educational Development (GED) tests can also apply. Applicants interested in joining the air force need to take the ‘Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery’ (ASVAB) examination. The score achieved in this test is termed as the Armed Forces Qualification Test Score (AFQT) score. GED-holders should have an AFQT score of 65 out of 99 to seek admission to the air force. Their age should be between 17 and 23 years as on 1st July of that particular year.

Background and Medical Check
Applicants who want to join the air force should not have a criminal background. They have to pass various medical tests in order to be eligible to join the air force.
